Hi, I Am Courtney Collins.
I am the creator of A Mindful Practice and an attorney licensed to practice in the State of Arizona, practicing predominantly criminal law since 2009.
I am a Mindfulness instructor and practitioner, with a personal practice for over five years, over 300 hours of YTT, and a myriad of mindfulness training courses including Mindfulness for Lawyers, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSR), and Yoga Psychology.
A Mindful Practice teaches others about mindfulness techniques that can be incorporated into our busy everyday lives for lasting stress reduction and mental well-being.
A Mindful Practice works with you to establish a mindfulness routine that is realistic to maintain and that will aid in stress-reduction and improve well-being. Whether you are a corporation, small office, school or individual, mindfulness can be life changing.
Mindfulness is the practice of being aware of the present moment, of your present thoughts and physical status. Did you know that more than 75% of our thoughts are subconscious throughout the day? Becoming aware of your thoughts can help you create space between what happens in daily life and your response to it. As humans, we have the ability to “time-travel,” spending our time thinking about the past or the future which leads to anxiety, stress and even depression. When one tough thing happens in life, think of how many times you are actually living through that difficulty by worrying about it in advance, experiencing it at the time, and then thinking of it after the fact. Mindfulness won’t take away the difficulty, but it will help you identify when your mind is “time-traveling” so that you can redirect it to the present moment. And living in the present moment, instead of thinking about the past or future, will not only reduce stress but will also lead to increased happiness, productivity, and well-being.
A Mindful Practice is here to help you establish and maintain a mindfulness practice. Mindfulness works but you have to stick to and maintain a consistent practice. We will help you create a practice that works in your real, every-day life. Mindfulness practices are not difficult, in fact, most of them seem very obvious; but it is the repetition and understanding of why they work that will lead to creating the habit.
Let A Mindful Practice help you train your brain to change your life.
